As global attention on carbon reduction efforts continues to intensify, countries are rolling out carbon border taxes and environment‑related regulations to actively promote the transition to a low‑carbon economy. The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) entered its pilot phase in October 2023, initially targeting monitoring and reporting in five high‑carbon industries—cement, power, fertilizers, steel, and aluminum. It will later expand to include organic chemicals, plastic polymers, hydrogen, and ammonia. In addition, the United States is planning to implement the Clean Competition Act (CCA) in 2024, while Japan, South Korea, Canada, and others are preparing carbon trading schemes and border adjustment levies to reinforce climate policies and corporate carbon management.

The current inventory follows the international standard ISO 14064‑1:2018, covering both direct emissions from the company’s operational activities (such as fuel use) and indirect emissions (such as purchased electricity). Through a systematic inventory and transparent data disclosure, the company can thoroughly understand its carbon‑emission profile, improve environmental management efficiency, identify concrete reduction opportunities, and move forward toward its low‑carbon, sustainable goals.
